Filipino Ministries was established in the year 2001, as a result of a desire of Ben and Nedie English to reach the Filipino people with the life changing power of Jesus Christ. Our first endeavor was the remodeling of a remote church building on the Island of Mindanao. There was also a well dug and electricity added to the building. Also, a parsonage was added later.

Ben and Nedie have two beautiful daughters, Glenda and Annabelle. The English family attends services at First Pentecostal Church in Wichita, KS.  Prior to moving to Wichita, the Englishes were members of Bethel Christian Ministries in Bellevue, NE. They were a part of Bethel from the fall of the year 2000 until the summer of 2008. Bro. English has assisted the Church in the audio/video ministries, Sunday School, and on occasion has spoken to the church body regarding needs present in the Foreign Missions field. He now is a Bible Study teacher with the Asian Ministry of First Pentecostal Church.  Sis. English has assisted in Sunday School and with nursery.

Bro. English was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. The family began attending services at Bethel in November of 2000. After about three services the former pastor of this body had come home to visit his family for Christmas. His name is David Brott. Bro. Brott at that time was part of the Leadership Development International (LDI) and he was based out of Manila, Philippines. He and his family have become great friends to the English family.

Bro. English began a Bible study with Bro. Brott, when he had to return to Manila the associate pastor, Justin Anthony took over. On February 28, 2001, Bro. Ben English was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. A few weeks later while attending a revival service at Bethel that was being preached by the Reverend Gary Legg, Bro. English received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Sis. English is originally from the Philippine Islands (the Central Visyas region) and most of her family remains there today. She was baptized in the Philippines but did not receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost until she and her family began attending services at Bethel. Sis. English is a wonderful cook and always receives commendations for her traditional Filipino foods.

The English family is thankful for the continued support of Missionaries David and Kathy Brott, Missionaries John and Nory Cogan (Davao City, Philippines), and our current pastor, Bishop J. Marrell Cornwell. We are also thankful to our former pastors at Bethel Christian Ministries in Omaha: Pastor Elvin Anthony, Pastor Justin Anthony, Pastor Alan Poe. Special thanks to Pastor Jimmy Toney of The Church of Omaha who allowed us to use music performed by his church.

We thank you for visiting this site and hope you will return often to see what the LORD is doing in the Philippines.
